$100,000 Buy-In TV Show

08th of December 2005

Some pro poker players look at the hefty buy-ins of events like the World Series of Poker Championship as the price to pay in order to keep out too many players. With so many online companies paying the way for tournament winners (the last WSOP Main Event had over 5,000 competitors, a staggering number) the barrier to entry is falling away. However, a new poker TV show set to debut in January should be a big enough barrier, with a buy in set at $100,000.

Set to begin Monday, January 16th at 9 pm Eastern Time, the show is aptly named High Stakes Poker, and will showcase the some of the biggest names in poker. Daniel Negreanu, Jennifer Harman, Ted Forrest and Bob Stupak will all be there, as will some of the all time legends of poker, Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Barry Greenstein, and Phil Hellmuth.
