2006 WSOP Schedule Announced

One of the shows and events responsible for the jump in poker popularity throughout recent years is the World Series of Poker, the tournament that entices pros and newcomers alike to chase big cash prizes and the coveted WSOP gold braclets. Last year the events were held at Harrah’s Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, and this year the casino giant is pleased to say the WSOP will be back.
"The World Series of Poker is the most prestigious poker tournament in the world and every poker enthusiast is invited to enter and become part of its time-honored tradition," said Jeffrey Pollack, one of Harrah’s vice presidents. “We're thrilled to be back at the Rio. Last year, the team there did a magnificent job and we know that players and fans alike will be treated to an outstanding experience in 2006."
There will be 44 total events, starting June 25th 2006. The big one, the $10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em World Championship Event starts July 28, 2006.
