A Second Million For Matusow
11th of November 2005
There are few charaters as loud as Mike “The Mouth” Matusow in poker, and with his recent big time win he will likely get even louder. He finished in ninth place at the main event of the World Series of Poker about four months ago and earned $1 million. At the WSOP Tournament of Champions recently he stated he was playing the best poker of his life. He went on to win the TOC and claim his second $1 million prize of 2005, giving weight to his words.
“Mike Matusow has once again proven that he’s more than just “The Mouth,” said Howard Lederer. Lederer who, along with Mike, is a member of Team Full Tilt, is also the brother of Annie Duke. “His play over the past year clearly shows that his game is as good as anyone’s and that he’s a threat in any tournament he enters.”
Mike beat out Hoyt Corkins and Phil Hellmuth, the third and second place finishers in the TOC, along with113 other players.
