Calgarian Wins Seat At WPT
24th of October 2005
Listing conservative play and decent math skills as the reasons for his win, computer engineer Denny Amirault sets his sites on Las Vegas for the World Poker Tour Championship event, to be held at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino on December 12th. The 36 year old Amirault recently won an entry into the event via on online tournament, a scenario reminiscent of Chris Moneymaker, the man who won his way into the World Series of Poker main event in 2003 from a $40 satellite tournament entry and walked out the millionaire champion.
Winning a seat to main event isn’t going to mean Amirault will be the next pro player to join the circuits, however. He keeps it all in perspective, pointing out this is just one event he won an entry to. He is looking forward to rubbing elbows with big name players like Dnniel Negreanu and Chris “Jesus” Fergeson; he wants to learn from those who are better decision makers than he is.
