Chinese Poker Market Ready
01st of September 2005
One company is already making moves to corner the market on Chinese poker players, and expects to find great success in the ancient country. Hi-tech holding company Dragon Ventures, Inc. has struck a deal with Cardroom.net for exclusive marketing rights in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. With a 40 percent take from poker revenue on Cardroom.net, Dragon Ventures is looking at potentially enormous profits.
Poker has steadily pushed and transcended borders in recent years, especially with the continued surge in poker popularity centered around poker television and online poker rooms. With international players joining in the game every day, tapping the under-developed poker market in Asia is a natural next step.
In a recent press release Dragon Venture's CEO Lawrence Wang expressed his excitement over the deal, saying, "We are extremely excited about marketing rights for CardRoom.net. As the popularity of poker explodes in the U.S. and Europe, we believe that the popularity of poker will be gaining traction in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in the very near future."
