US Poker Champion Is James Caporuscio

12th of October 2005

Sunday night, at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, the final nine poker players struggled and strived to see who would emerge as the new US Poker Championship winner. In the end it was James Caporuscio to whom the honor went, along with a hefty prize of more than eighth hundred thousand dollars. While it does not often pan out this way, Caporuscio started the day out as the big stack, and managed to parley this early advantage into the final win. The final standings, and the prizes that go along with them, are listed here:

James Caporuscio 2005 U.S. Poker Championship title, $831,532 and a gold watch

Ralph Pecorale Second place $436,500

Chris Furbert Sixth place $76,387

Andrew A.K. Barta Seventh place $54,562
