WCOOP Prize Three Way Chop
22nd of September 2005
In a moment that is sure to be remembered and talked about during the next Wolrd Championship of Online Poker, one Americn and two Swedish players, the final three in the WCOOP final event, made a deal. They would split the prize winnings three ways, and just like that they were each over $500,000 richer.
It was a fantatic moment ending fifteen days of online competition, put on by PokerStars.com in their Fourth Annual event. Over 80 countries were represented from around the world as more than 19 thousand players logged on to compete for part of the huge prize pool, topping twelve million dollars.
I was overwhelmed by this year's World Championship of Online Poker," said PokerStars’ Poker Room Manager Lee Jones. "We exceeded our $8 million guarantee by nearly 60 percent, making the WCOOP the third largest poker tournament series of any kind so far this year. As always, it's the players who made this event into such a colossal success. This was a poker tournament to remember."
